My mamaw fell this last week and so I'm on the hunt for the perfect light weight house shoes for her. These were a good contestant but weren't just right for her. (she's extremely picky about everything so this won't be easy to do. I'm not blaming the shoes for her not being able to keep them) she needs a slipper that has a rubber bottom for grip, slight heel for comfort, opened toes due to arthritis, closed in back to keep them secure, adjustable across the top due to swelling, and the ability to use with her orthotics, so a removable foot bed is ideal for her. Now, these are not advertised as a removable foot bed. When we got them I checked, and the insoles are not sewn in. In fact they were barely tacked in well with glue. I could take the insoles off if I really wanted to. I'm not sure if that was just the pair I got or if it is supposed to be that way. Her Normal shoes are a 9m and reviews say that they run small. Her original shoes say the heel to toe is 10" and for 10" on these, would be an 8. I got 8s and her orthotics would have stuck out maybe 1/8" -1/4". But for a fall risk that's way to much. 9s for her would have been to big in the heel. (keep in mind she has small to no heel and her swelling is across the top of her foot) so a 9 would have been to loose on her.The way there are made are pretty decent for house shoes or someone that needs to go to the Dr or even to walk a bit in. The Velcro is stronger than I expected. We got the light cream ones and they were just as the picture. I think she would have kept them if the orthotics would have fit in them but if that's not a problem for you then I don't see much fault with these.
